“This was a great opportunity for some of our developing gymnasts to compete against the best in the region and Great Britain,” said Katie Lawton, high-performance coach, Deerness Gymnastics Academy. “It was also a timely opportunity for essential competition experience ahead of the British Championships in July”

“It is really important for gymnasts at all levels of development to keep gaining more experience in a competition environment. These tournaments are a great way of developing gymnastic skills and strengths and will hopefully inspire and encourage more people to get involved with the club.”

“As a club, we are grateful for the support we receive from parents and volunteers and with the hard work and effort of the gymnasts and coaches, together we can provide many young people throughout Durham and the north east with the opportunity to improve their health and physical development.”
