Vacancy for Assistant Gymnastics Coach

(1 year temporary contract)

 £18242 per annum gross

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Assistant Gymnastics Coach at the Academy, starting in the autumn term

It will be offered as one year, temporary contract with possibility of extension

Annual salary is £18242 made up of £17500 basic plus £742 performance bonus subject to annual appraisal of objectives being met successfully

Work pattern and hours to be agreed in line with our Academy rota

This will involve evening and weekend working

Successful applicant will need to have full DBS check and undergo Child Protection & First Aid training

The Academy will be part of Workplace Reforms from March 2017 and therefore correct pension arrangements will be agreed in line with regulations

Main Duties

  • Assist with the recreational and club classes at Deerness Gymnastics Academy (DGA) – as a team and independently
  • Assist the DGA Coaching team in the preparation of coaching sessions, as required
  • Support the DGA Coaching team at competitions
  • Support the Academy in the preparation and attendance at events
  • Work with the DGA Coaching team to provide ancillary duties (front desk, cleaning, health and safety checks etc.)

Key Skills, Capabilities & Knowledge required

  • Level 2 Coaching or equivalent degree/qualification in sports related coaching (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear instructions, guidance and feedback to all levels (Essential)
  • Passionate about the development and future success of the Academy and Deerness Gymnastics Club (Essential)
  • Inspiring role model to children and teenagers (Essential)
  • Proven ability to work successfully within a team and independently (Essential)
  • Working towards achievement of next coaching qualification (Desirable)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills (Desirable)
